01Introduction
Al-Mohammad Ali Family Tree ("the Platform", "we") is a private application built exclusively for members of the Al-Mohammad Ali family in Kuwait. We are committed to protecting your privacy and only collect the minimum information necessary to operate the Platform.
02Information we collect
We collect only what's needed to run the Platform:
- Phone number — to verify identity and sign in via OTP.
- Full name — to display in the family tree.
- Birth date (optional) — to order generations.
- Profile and gallery photos (optional) — for personal profile.
- Short bio (optional) — for the personal profile.
- Push notification token — to send you alerts.
03How we use information
- Verify your identity as a family member through OTP.
- Display the family tree and kinship relationships.
- Send notifications about family news and events.
- Allow administrators to approve new member accounts.
- Show your profile to other approved family members only.
04WhatsApp & SMS
We use SMS, WhatsApp Business API, and Voice Call exclusively to deliver one-time verification codes (OTP) at sign-in. We never send marketing, promotional, or commercial content through these channels. WhatsApp is used as a fallback when SMS delivery fails.
05Service providers
We rely on trusted third-party providers to operate the Platform:
- Supabase — database hosting and image storage (encrypted at rest).
- Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — notification delivery.
- WhatsApp Business / Twilio — OTP delivery only.
These providers are bound to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.
06Data sharing
We do not sell or share your data with any third party for marketing purposes. Your data is visible only to approved family members within the Platform, according to the privacy settings you choose (such as hiding your phone number or hiding your profile from the tree).
07Your rights
- Access — view all your data from the "My Account" screen in the app.
- Edit — update your name, photo, and bio at any time.
- Hide — hide your phone number or your entire profile from the family tree.
- Delete — permanently delete your account from the app (Settings → Delete Account); all your data is wiped from our servers.
- Export — to receive a copy of your data, contact us by email.
08Data retention
We keep your data as long as your account is active. When the account is deleted, all personal data is removed within 30 days. Some anonymized records may be retained for operational purposes.
09Security
Data is transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS) and stored in secure databases on Supabase with encryption at rest. Administrator access is protected with strong authentication.
10Children
The Platform is intended for adult family members. Children may be added to the tree by their guardians using only their names, without granting them direct app access.
11Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced inside the app.
